Kay Cee Drugs, an independent pharmacy, opened it doors to District Heights and
Prince Georges County on July 31st, 1954. Located at 6110 Old Silver Hill Road in
District Heights, Maryland, Kay Cee Carried a variety of products. Model airplanes,
toys for children ages 1 to 12, lovely floral arrangements, tropical fish, cameras
and film processing, jewelry repairs, pet supplies, medical supplies specializing
in Pharmacy supplies and prescriptions.
Along with the product selection Kay Cee had it’s own soda fountain. Along with
the store in District Heights, Maryland, Kay Cee Drugs had two locations one in
Cheverly and another in Kent Village, Maryland. Kay Cee Drugs prided itself as being
a full service independent Pharmacy always there to help the community and giving
a personalized touch to each and every customer that chose Kay Cee Drugs as there
pharmacy.
During the rapid growth of chain stores, Kay Cee Drugs choose to move in the direction
of helping the community of seniors and people who had a difficult time finding
items not readily available in the chain drug stores. So Kay Cee Drugs moved into
the total Health Care Store, by expanding the Medical Supplies, diabetic supplies,
wound care and incontinence supplies, hence Kay Cee Drugs and Medical Equipment
Supplies came to life. Still remaining an independent Pharmacy as not to lose the
